Unsafe Drugs

We have all taken medication at some point in our lives, whether it is over the counter medication or medication prescribed by our doctors. When we take these medicines ourselves, or give them to our loved ones, we trust that they have been adequately tested, and are safe.

Unfortunately, sometimes drug manufacturers place a medication on the market without sufficient safety testing for possible harmful or fatal side effects. Often, medications that we used to think were safe, like Reglan®, Paxil®, Zicam®, Bextra®, Avandia® and Yasmin®, have now been found to put patients at risk for injuries, risks that the drug manufacturers knew, or should have known, about.

Sometimes these drugs are marketed in completely misleading ways. For example, the Missouri Attorney General filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the weight loss drug Hydroxycut®, claiming that the drug was falsely advertised as "clinically proven" to be a "fat burner". Recently, the Food and Drug Administration issued a warning about the drug, because it was found to cause serious liver damage.

If you’ve suffered harm as a result of a prescription or over the counter medication, in many cases prompt action is required to meet legal deadlines and protect your rights.
